Power of Adornment: History, Art, and Influence of Jewelry in Women’s Lives

Christine Jones, a third-generation jeweler with a studio in Raleigh, shapes precious metals and gemstones by handcrafting each piece with the precision of a jeweler and soul of an artist.

Every design begins as an idea, evolves through the rhythm of hammer and file, and emerges as a one-of-a-kind work of wearable art. Rooted in the traditions of fine craftsmanship yet inspired by modern design, Chrstine’s handcrafted jewels are made to be worn, cherished, and passed down — carrying the story of both maker and wearer.

During the October 9 luncheon, Christine will share the rich history of jewelry making, the craftsmanship behind handmade pieces symbolic and cultural significance, particularly for women in leadership, business, and society. She’ll demonstrate some of the tools and materials she uses and offer tips on building a signature look.
